## About this dashboard

Cohort Retention shows how customer and revenue retention develop across twelve monthly cohorts and thirteen ages, M0 through M12. The dashboard keeps logo retention separate from revenue retention so churn, expansion, and contraction remain visible by vintage rather than hidden in a blended whole-book number.

Its outputs include retained customers, cohort revenue, GRR, NRR, cumulative revenue, cumulative gross margin, LTV per customer, LTV-to-CAC, and DCF-adjusted LTV. Revenue uses calendar-month pricing step-ups and monthly NRR compounding, allowing older cohorts to receive price changes at the appropriate time and preserving a comparable dollar view across vintages. The cohort view supports direct comparison of retention quality between acquisition months.

Use the dashboard for retention reviews, investor diligence, and pricing or packaging analysis. The supporting workbook contains the retention milestones, cohort growth, ARPU, expansion and contraction factors, gross margin, CAC, and monthly discount factor; changing those assumptions recalculates the Retention, customer, revenue, and Summary outputs by cohort.

## Frequently asked questions

### What cohorts and ages does the dashboard show?

The dashboard tracks twelve monthly acquisition cohorts across thirteen cohort ages, from M0 through M12. Each cohort has customer and revenue views by age, allowing retention and economics to be compared vintage by vintage.

### How is NRR calculated for each cohort?

Cohort NRR is revenue at age 12 divided by revenue at age 0. Customer retention determines retained logos, while a separate monthly factor captures expansion minus contraction in per-customer revenue, so the output combines churn and dollar movement.

### Why does pricing use the calendar month?

Calendar-month pricing reflects a shared price step-up date across customers. Older cohorts therefore receive the increase when it occurs, regardless of acquisition month, avoiding an artificially flat dollar-retention curve caused by cohort-relative pricing.

### Which LTV measures are included?

The Summary provides cohort LTV per customer using gross margin and also a DCF-adjusted LTV using the monthly discount factor row. It pairs those outputs with LTV-to-CAC for a cohort-level view of customer economics.

### Can I replace the modelled retention curve?

Yes. Replace the Age 0 through Age 12 retention milestones on Assumptions with realised values. The Retention curve, customer triangle, revenue triangle, and Summary outputs recalculate from the same baseline without changing the workbook structure.
