Financial Model Visualizer

See how your Excel workbook fits together. Turn worksheets into a connected map, follow the flow of formulas, and inspect what links each sheet.

Your workbook, mapped out

Drop an Excel workbook here to see how its sheets connect. Formula-heavy connections stand out at a glance.

.xlsx · Up to 5 MB · Requires formulas

Your workbook stays in your browser. No upload, storage, or formula execution.

How to visualize a financial model

  1. Choose an .xlsx workbook containing formulas, or try the sample workbook.
  2. Each box is a worksheet. Arrows point from a source sheet to a sheet whose formulas reference it.
  3. Thicker arrows mean more formula cells. Select a connection to inspect those cells, or a sheet to focus on its neighbours.

What does the connection count mean?

A formula cell counts once per source sheet, even if it references several cells or an entire range on that sheet. A formula using two sheets contributes once to each connection. Same-sheet references appear in each box’s statistics. Shared formulas count per formula cell; array formulas count at their stored anchor.

Which Excel formulas are supported?

The map traces ordinary cell and range references, quoted sheet names, 3-D sheet ranges, and resolvable defined names. Dynamic references, table references, and external workbook links may be incomplete and are flagged for inspection. Known connections still appear. Worksheet loops indicate dependencies in both directions, not necessarily circular cell formulas.

Does my workbook leave my device?

No. This tool reads the selected workbook in your browser and does not upload or save it. It does not execute macros, recalculate formulas, or modify the file. Supported limits: .xlsx, 5 MB file size, 50 MB expanded contents, 200 sheets, and 100,000 formula cells. Encrypted files are not supported.

Why are there no connections?

A values-only workbook has no formulas to trace. A workbook containing only same-sheet formulas also has no cross-sheet arrows. Use an original workbook with formulas; public values-only previews cannot reveal dependencies.
